Joyce's Search Tip - December 2007 -
Do You Know that you can search just the 600 pages of Tioga County Cemetery Records on the site by using the Cemeteries -Tioga button in the Partitioned search engine at the bottom of the Current What's New Page? If you use that partition follow these steps to search just one cemetery
1. Choose Cemeteries - Tioga.
2. Enter part of the cemetery name [ie Newbury or Furman] AND a surname.
3. Choose the Find ALL Words option. Then it will find just the pages with that surname in the one cemetery you indicated.

Edited note to Joyce M. Tice from Adam Dewing - Your site lists  North Warren Presbyterian Cemetery  and  Coburn -Dewing (near Warren Center)  as 2 separate cemeteries, They are alternate names of the same cemetery. It was known as Warren Heights at one point as well.

Also the one listed as  Owego-Montrose/ A. Manchester farm no longer exists. Russel Dewing (my uncle) remembers something being there. He said that he and his mother went up to see it and found that there were no markers left. There were 2 stones according to him, a man named Case and an indian woman. I'm not sure what you want to list about it, there is nothing to transcribe.

On another page your site mentions a Corbin burial at the old Presbyterian church. A stone was placed up the road from there in that last 1-2 years. The new stone reads:
Corbin, Clement Serg CT Militia Rev War 1733-1825

Uncle Russel Dewing says that the family had a story that he was buried under a large maple tree near the Presbyterian church. He believes that Clement was buried in the Coburn-Dewing cemetery. Russel's brother, Robert Dewing, says that there was an old maple by the old church, but both are now gone. Either way, the stone now stands on the left side of the road, in front of an old maple tree up the road from the intersection after the Coburn-Dewing cemetery.

The following cemeteries were recorded by Adam Dewing of Wisconsin an a trip east. Three cheers for his willingness to work in the snow the first week of January 2006. If he had waited only a week, he'd have had no snow at all to deal with. January 2006 is VERY mild - like March or  April at this point. (13 Jan)

Whitaker- Beardsley Burial Ground
It is unknown how many burials were here originally.

It in the general location of what the 1869 Beers atlas calles the Currier Homestead east of the intersection of the Owego Montrose Turnpike and the road that goes to Little Meadows.

Coburn - Dewing Cemetery
Read by Adam Dewing January 2006

Many stones are blank from time. Some have been set in concrete and set upright. These are mostly unreadable.

There are 2 main sections to the cemetery, near the road and far away from the road. There are several large and old maple trees here.

It has been known by several names. First, Warren Heights, next North Warren Presbyterian Cemetery, and it was incorporated Coburn Dewing cemetery in 1930. It is located on Coburn Hill rd (rd 1079) It was a burial ground for the Presbyterian Church and is now a Family cemetery for primarily the Dewing family.
