Joyce's Search Tip - December 2007 -
Do You Know that you can search just the 600 pages of Tioga County Cemetery Records on the site by using the Cemeteries -Tioga button in the Partitioned search engine at the bottom of the Current What's New Page? If you use that partition follow these steps to search just one cemetery
1. Choose Cemeteries - Tioga.
2. Enter part of the cemetery name [ie Newbury or Furman] AND a surname.
3. Choose the Find ALL Words option. Then it will find just the pages with that surname in the one cemetery you indicated.
One Two Three Four Five 1968 Listing
This cemetery was recorded by Donna Allen, Wendy & Eileen Baker. Completed Sept .20 ,2003.  Due to recent storms a tree had fallen on some of the stones and info on those was impossible to get. A few stones are worn and unreadable. Because of the wet weather several areas had standing water and the bugs were terrible. If visiting go with plenty of bug repellant. Approximately 165 names have been added [to the 1968 listing] with several missing dates filled in.

I am the great grandson of Augustus Reinwald and Catherine Schanbacher Reinwald who are buried in Knowlton Cemetery.  I have visited this cemetery and have gained much information from the stones of many of my ancestors buried there.
On the Tri-Counties web site under the listing of Knowlton Cemetery, there is a note on the entry for Augustus Reinwald that he was a "Verern of Navy Civil War".  This is not entirely acurate.  He was a vetern of the Civil War, but he served in the Army. He enlisted as a private in Captain Hugh McDonald's Company G, 42nd Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers (Bucktail Regiment). He enrolled on April 25, 1861 and received a bullet wound in the face at the battle of Turner's Gap, South Mountain on 14 Sept. 1862.
Please make a correction to your entry to show that he was in the Army and not the Navy.
I thank you very much and am extremely pleased and grateful for the information in the Tri-Counties sitet, and appreciate all the work that must be involved in the cemetery listing.

Thank you,
Royce A. Reinwald
