Carr, H.E. |
DIED. A Brave Soldier Gone. We have received the sad particulars
of the death of Mr. H.E. Carr, a discharged soldier, while on his way home
from Texas, where his regiment disbanded. Mr. Carr was a brother-in-law
of Mr. D.G. Edwards, of Charleston township and a native of Bradford county.
He enlisted in the 2d Wisconsin cavalry, in 1861, and served faithfully
until last November when he was discharged. While on his way home with
a small drove of horses and mules, in which he and three of his comrades
had invested their ready money, he was flung from his horse while fording
Red River, and drowned before assistance could reach him... |
