1880 21-Dec D Dearman, Justus Died Mr. Justus Dearman of Knoxville died last Tue., at his residence. He went to Knoxville some 30 yrs ago from Ithaca, NY and went into mercantile business with his brother Albert. He never married
1880 28-Dec D Dearmen, Justus Died at Knoxville Dec 14th 1880 of typhoid pneumonia, Justus Dearmen aged 51 yrs. The funeral was held on the 17th at the Christian Church, and was conducted by Rev. Walter T. Mills of Starkey Seminary, NY. He was interred in his own lawn. (long article)

1881 28-Jun D Dorrance, Benjamin Died Hon. Benjamin Dorrance, an ex-Representative from Tioga Co., in the State Legislature, died at Elmira last Sunday of consumption. He was born at Elkland, Pa., on the 3rd of May 1836. He was the 3rd son of George Dorrance, Esq., of Elkland. He never married. His father died two weeks ago at the age of 79. Mr. Dorrance leaves 3 brothers, 2 sisters and an aged mother. The funeral will take place from the family residence at Elkland (long article)

1880 08-Jun D Eberenz, Wm. Wm. Eberenz died at his home in Delmar last week Monday, at the age of 79 yrs. Mr. Eberenz came to this place from Germany in 1817, when he was about 16 yrs of age. He very soon married the daughter of Dr. Samuel Hoover, who lived near this borough. Six children were born to them -- two sons and four daughters. Children's names not given. 1881 06-Dec D Fairchild, Eugene Died; Mr. And Mrs. Frank Fairchild of Knoxville have recently met with a series of bereavements. On the 2nd of last Sep., their son Eugene died of diptheria in the twelfth year of his age. On the 10th of Sep., Lillie, their only daughter fell a victim to the dread disease in her eighth year, and her death was followed on the 20th by that of the youngest child, a little boy named Louise, in his 4th year. And, finally on the 8th of Nov., another son, Leon, in his 10th year, was swept away by the same dreadful scourge. Rev. J. E. Hayes preached a funeral sermon the the 23d ult., for the children

1881 12-Jul D Finnegan, Peter Died Peter Finnegan of Arnot was killed last Tue., at Mill Creek on the Tioga road. He was a brakeman on a coal train and he was killed when he attempted to jump on the locomotive and missed his hold and fell under the train wheels. He was about 28 yrs old and unmarried. This was his first trip as a brakeman, his having previously worked for the Fall Brook Co., in other capacities. Burial was at Blossburg
