1894 Deed James J. Gorham to Mary Gorham

This Indenture made the Sixteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four

Between James J. Gorham of LeRaysville Borough, County of Bradford, State of Pennsylvania of the first part, and Mary Gorham of the same place of the second part:

Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, well and truly paid by the said party of the second part to the said party of the first part, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien. Enfeoff, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns, all that messuage, Lot or Parcel of Land lying and being in theBorough of Le Raysville, County of Bradford, State of Pennsylvania, and described and bounded as follows, Viz: On the North by lands now of James M. Benham, On the East by Lands of said James M. Benham, On the South by lands of the Estate of Trumbull Benham, deceased and now occupird by B. H. Beardsley and on the West by the East Side of Main Street. And being a part of the Lot lately owned and occupied by Andrew B. Beardsley. (deceased).

Also one other lot Situate and being in the said Borough of Le Raysville. Bounded and described as follows. On the north by land now owned by Le Roy Coleman, On the East by West line of Store lot of Gorham and Coleman Hardware Store, On the South by land of F. T. Billings And On the West by lands of James M. Benham, being the lot occupied by said first party for Garden purposes &c.

TOGETHER with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits, thereof; and also all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever, both in law and equity, of the said party of the first part, of, in, to or out of the said premises, and every part and parcel thereof.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, with all and singular the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns forever. And the said first party, his heirs, executors and administrators, doth by these presents covenant, grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns, that he the said party of the first part and his heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises hereinbefore described and granted, or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns, against the said party of the first part, and his heirs, and against all and every person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof, shall and will by these presents WARRANT AND FOREVER DEFEND.

IN WITNESS THEREOF, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 16th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four before me One of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared James J. Gorham who, I am satisfied is the individual named in, and who executed the above Deed or Conveyance, and I having first made known to him the contents thereof, he acknowledged that he signed, sealed and delivered the same as his voluntary act and deed, and desired the same to be recorded as such.
