This has been the most mind-boggling family I've ever tried to trace....but
here are my thoughts concerning the following families....I believe that
John & Hannah are the parents of Altheda Bennett who married Charles
Bennett. Prior to Charles marriage, the only Altheda
I can find on the entire Bradford Co. census is Altheda Bennett on the
Wilmot 1850 Census with her parents John & Hannah. I believe
that Ursula Clark (possibly married to a Inman) is Charles sister.
The Bennett tombstone includes Charles, Altheda, and
Ursula Clark in the Laddsburg Cemetery. They lived right
next door to each other in 1880, as shown below, and The Watkins in 1880
Terry (with an Ursula) has Hannah
Bennett in the home, and right next door is Altheda and Charles.......gets
very confusing! Anybody researching the following? Thanks John

Two Children of Rachel Weed, (d. of Enos Weed and Mary Unknown) and her husband Justus Gray were in Sullivan Township in 1830. They were Sally Gray, wife of James McConnell and Eli Gray, husband of Eleanor Wood. These were all Connecticut immigrants to Sullivan. Eli Gray and Eleanor Wood relocated to Ohio. In same neighborhood were Levi Weed b. ca 1780, Nathaniel Weed b. ca 1790, also Dennis and Eli b. 1800-1810. These WEED families disappeared from Sullivan after this time. I need the full genealogical scoop on these WEEDs, full ancestry, siblings, migration after leaving Sullivan, wives, children the whole thing. I also need to know relationship to Rachel if any. They may be nephews and thereby cousins of her children in Sullivan who migrated with them from CT to Sullivan Township, Tioga County PA.

William Hill and wife Polly Hopkins were in Sullivan Township in the 1830 census. I do not have death dates or death location for either of them. Both were age 40-50 in that census and they had several children in their family. Son Garwood Hill was in Sullivan for the 1840, 1850, 1860 censuses as husband of Alpha Palmer (m 1834) and later Mary Barnes ( m. 1877). I need the full ancestry and information on the family of William and Polly, including identity of and descendants of the other children.
Following is a biography of son Garwood which is all I know of the family of William and Polly.
Garwood H. Hill, who is of English descent, came to Sullivan with his parents at the age of 17. He was born May 17th 1811 at Wellsboro. December 25th 1834 he married Alpha G. Palmer, daughter of Stephen and Lydia Palmer of Sullivan. She died March 12th 1876, having borne him eight children, of whom five are still living. In 1877, he married Mrs. Mary A. According to the historical book entitled "The life and Times of Major Isaac Lyman" by Robert R Lyman as well as handed-down family information (I am his descdendent) --Isaac settled in the wilderness in a one-cabin town which came to be known as Lymansville, on March 16, 1810 with his 3rd wife and children as well as many of the younger children of his previous two marriages. This following a 42 mile trip from Delmar, Tioga County, PA. 'They brought their goods, tools, iron for the saw mill, oxen for heavywork, horses for travel, cows for milk and sheep for wool. Their only neighbor was the Ayers family four miles away.'
In 1816 there were enough settlers in the area to warrant a post-office and in 1816 a mail route was established from Jersey Shore, through Lymansville, and on to Olean, NY. Life in Lymansville continued to prosper and the village grew. Then -- on March 20, 1834 on a beautiful warm spring day around 4:30 pm a terrific wind storm (most likely a tornado and in many accounts referred to as a "cyclone") together with thunder, hail, etc. struck the town. Most all of the town was destroyed and demolished in a matter of minutes. The town of Ulysses had almost as much damage.
The town continued to exist though and much of it was rebuilt and is still in existence today.

I found Michael KANE in the 1880 Census residing with the FONNELL family.I've never heard of this family before. Does anyone have any information?
Hi Bill
I have Eber Leonard b. 1823 Springfield, Bradford Co. in my tree who
was married to my Sally Wilson, daughter of Nehemia Wilson and Polly
Grover. I also have the name of Ezekial Leonard Sr. as his father.
Eber's marriage to Sally was found in Pioneer and Patriot Families of Bradford
Co., vol. 1, p. 26 . Many other references to Ezekial and "his relative"
Austin, are in Vol 2, p. 42-43 which you are probably already aware of.
Guess we are cuzzins...?

Heather,
Below is what I have on Leonard and Hodge from various sources.
Solomon Leonard b. 29 May 1765 Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts m. 22 Oct 1787 at Promfret, Vermont, Huldah Hodge b. perhaps 21 July 1768. Enumerated in Onondaga County, New York in 1800 and 1810. Enumerated in Hector, Tompkins (that portion that is now Schuyler) County, New York in 1820. Solomon is related to have d. c. 1825 Tompkins County, New York. In the 1825 state census enumeration Huldah was the head of household with a notation of the death of one male in that year. In the Tompkins County land records of 1827, the Sheriff of Tompkins County, from a writ of the Court of Common Pleas was directed to direct goods and chattels unto Curtis H. Leonard, Abraham Leonard 2d, Elisha Leonard, Ezra Grinold and Lucretia, his wife; Benoni Campbell and Mary, his wife; Truman B. Warner and Mabel, his wife; Henry Stringham and Solomon Leonard Stringham "heirs of Solomon Leonard, deceased" for a $1,000 debt. Huldah Leonard removed with her children to Wells and d. 3 Feb 1842 73y 6m 13d (ts) Coryland Cemetery.
Solomon Leonard, Jr., b. c. 1790 was a witness
on land transactions involving Solomon and Huldah Leonard in Tompkins County
(1819 and 1825), New York and in the latter transaction, he is noted as
"Jr". He is perhaps the Solomon in the 1825 state census enumeration. He
does not appear as an heir in the 1827 Tompkins County record. He is perhaps
the Solomon Leonard who appears on the 1830 asessment list of Wells and
on the 1831 list had transfered his property to John Frost and perhaps
is the Solomon Leonard
enumerated in the 1835 state census of Tompkins
County.
1. daughter b. c. 1788.
2. Abraham Leonard 2nd b. c. 1790 (1800
census - son b. 1785-90).
3. daughter b. perhaps c. 1792 (1800 census
- two daughters b. 1790-1800).
4. Lucretia Leonard b. 4 Dec 1795 Washington
County, New York m. 18 Jan 1815 Ezra Grinold, lived many years in Orleans
County, New York where she d.16 Apr 1887.
5. Curtis Hodge Leonard b. Dec 1797.
6. son b. c. 1800 (1810 census enumeration
son b. 1795-1800 but not enumerated in 1800).
7. Mary Leonard b. 12 Sept 1802 Pompey,
Onondaga County, New York m. Benoni Campbell.
8. Elisha Leonard perhaps b. c. 1804.
9. Mable Ann Leonard b. 5 Mar 1808 Fabius,
Onondaga County, New York m. 27 Oct 1825 Truman B. Warner.
10. perhaps a son b. c. 1810 (not enumerated
1810 census but male of age 10 and under age 16 enumerated 1820 census).
