Jacob Musselman and his wife Hannah Eisenhart emigrated to Bradford County from Lehigh County in 1848 and settled just west of Overton on what is now Musselman Road. They and many of their descendants are buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, where a reunion to honor them will be held on August 24th of this year.
The Francke and Grosskopff (Grosscup) families emigrated from Danzig Prussia in 1854, settling in Overton Township where Anna Maria Clara Francke married Edward Musselman in 1866.

Joseph Gorham, a Mayflower descendant and third cousin to Nathaniel Gorham the fourteenth President of the Continental Congress, emigrated from Connecticut to the LeRaysville, Pike Township area with his wife Lucy Beecher shortly after 1810. Lucy was a fourth cousin of Henry Ward Beecher and Harriet BEECHER Stowe.
Their son John B. Gorham (father of James J.) married Dolly Beeman, whose father Zina Beeman came from Connecticut in 1828 and purchased land in Pike Township from LeRay du Chaumont for whom LeRaysville is named. The family of Ruth Ann Cogswell (Zina's wife) had several members who were among the first settlers of Tuscarora Township in the southeast corner of Bradford County, having arrived there before 1812.

James J. Gorham of LeRaysville Married Mary Angeline Burns, who is the subject of a collection of 86 Civil War era letters which appear on the Burlington Township pages of the Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice. Mary was the daughter of Orry Burns, who's parents were among the original settlers of Susquehanna County and Letitia Campbell, who's grandfather James Campbell was Joyce's fifth great grandfather James Campbell. The Campbell family name has been prominent in Burlington Township for over two hundred years and many descendants still live there today. I would enjoy hearing from some of them.
James Campbell's son Cephas married Sarah Bingham of Ulster Township, whose father Chester was the principle founder of Binghampton, New York.
The VanOrman family, originally Van Arnhem and of Holland Dutch descent, arrived in Bradford County prior to 1850 having come from Rensselaer County, NY They first appear in the Orwell Township census of 1850. Most of them are buried in Darling Cemetery in East Orwell or at Oak Hill Cemetery in Towanda.
The Corbins were from Massachusetts and Connecticut, but Only Eliza Jane, wife of William Dennis Van Orman is known to have settled in Bradford County.

Jacob Kester was probably the first man to permanently settle in Cherry Twp., Sullivan Co., "just a hop, skip and a jump" from the Bradford Co. line near Overton. Family traditions claim that he and his wife, Katherine Knubaharin came from Berwick to this area in 1813 on the first Susquehanna and Tioga Turnpike. They and their descendants were closely tied to the town of Overton in Bradford Co. which lies just across Black Crick from their lands. Many of them are buried in St Paul's Cemetery.
The name Knubaharin is probably not a legitimate name, but more likely a corruption of Neuber or something similar. German speaking peoples sometimes added the suffix "in" to denote a female.
