Looking for information on the following Trask family.  I do not have their
parents but they were all siblings:
Alanson/Elanson born ca 1809
Almond born ca 1810
Phoebe born ca 1814
Caleb Putnam born ca 1820, died 8 Jan 1878
William

Here is the census info I have on Alanson/Elanson:
1840, Springfield, Bradford Co., PA:  Elanson Trask males - 020001,
females - 10001=5

1850, Springfield, Bradford Co., PA: Alanson Trask 41, Lucy 36, Reuben 15,
Lois 12, Louisa 10, Laura 2 (is this possibly Lavina?).  Louisa is also
enumerated with the Cummings family.  There is also another possible
daughter, Lucena, age 5, living with the Knapp family.  Interesting that all
daughter's names start with a "L".  Here is the listing:
Trask Alanson 41 M 600 Farmer CT 68 368
Trask Lucy 36 F   NY 68 368
Trask Reuben 15 M   NY 68 368
Trask Lois 12 F   PA 68 368
Trask Louisa 10 F   PA 68 368
Trask Laura 2 F   PA 68 368

I am trying to connect Lavina Trask to this line.  She was born8 May 1852
and died 15 Feb 1922 in Fallbrook.  She married Joseph CAREY.

Next door to where the second Louisa is there is a Jacob Trask:
Stockwell Eli 51 M 10000 Farmer NY 71 368
Stockwell Mary 45 F   NY 71 368
Stockwell Clarissa 18 F   NY 71 368
Stockwell Urana 9 F   PA 71 368
Trask Jacob 27 M  Laborer GER 71 368
Chaapel John 19 M  Laborer PA 71 368

Then there is a Lucena TRASK
Knapp Amos 60 M 1500 Farmer NY 72 368
Knapp Electa 57 F   NY 73 368
Knapp Dec.s* 31 M  Lawyer PA 73 368
Knapp David 27 M  Farmer PA 73 368
Knapp Franklin 17 M  Farmer PA 73 368
Knapp John 25 M 800 Farmer PA 73 368
Knapp Amos 23 M  Farmer PA 73 368
Knapp Martha 14 F   PA 73 368
Trask Lucena 5 F   PA 73 368

Looking for information on William Cary. Here is the census information:
1840, Springfield, Bradford Co., PA:  Wm. Cary males:  200001, females
100001= 5

1850, Springfield, Bradford Co., PA, Family #151, pg. 374:  Wm. Cary 42,
farmer, $800 real estate;  Deighton 14, Mahala 13, Jason 11, Harriet 9,
Joseph 5, Sephrona 2 (Sephrona then shows up again with L. G. and Emeline
Newbury.  Emeline is 43 - is this Sephrona's mother maybe?  Right next door
is the following family:
Parmenter Lawson 26 M 500 Farmer MA 152 374
Parmenter Harriet 21 F   NY 152 374
Parmenter Harriet 1m F   PA 152 374
Parmenter Arrabel 63 M 500 Farmer MA 152 374
And there is another Parmenter family nearby.  Possible source of where
William meets Matilda?

1870 Springfield, #306/296:  William 62 (famer/$2300/$600), Matilda 48,
Sarah 16, William 14

I am looking for the identity of his first wife, her death date (pre 1850)
and where she is buried.  William then married Matilda.

Looking for information on Calvin and Mary BASTIAN.  They are found in the
following census:
1850, Union Twp., Tioga Co., PA:
16 48 48 Bastian Calvin 40 Maine  Farmer 500 ME
17       Mary K. 35 F      PA
18       Hannah 7 F      PA
19       Charles 2 M      PA
NOTE:  Calvin is not listed in Union in 1840

1860 Union Township, Tioga Co., PA:  34 109 103
Bastian Calvin 48 M  Farmer 800 275 MA
35    Mary 43 F     PA
36    Charles 14 M     PA
37    Daniel A. 3 M     PA
38    Mary R. 4 F     PA
Calvin and Mary also had two other sons:  Joseph K. born 1852 and John W.
1859 (both buried in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Ogdensburg, Tioga Co.,
PA)
What else is interesting is that there was the surname "King" in the same
area and Charles was given the middle name of King (maiden name of his
mother?)

Would like to find them in 1870.

Hello,
I am still tracing my Smith ancestors and just found out some information regarding my gggrandmother Azubah Nelson who married Howard S. Smith. He was born May 10, 1810 in Columbia Twp., Bradford Cnty., Pa.

Azubah Mary Church was born July 15, 1798 in Salisbury, Addison Cnty., Vermont. She was the daughter of Silas & Hannah (Barker) Church.

Azubah's first husband was a man with the surname Nelson. It appears that Azubah & her husband moved from Vermont to Pennsylvania. It looks as if Azubah's husband passed away and she then married Howard S. Smith sometime around 1830.

Does anyone have any information on Azubah's 1st husband Mr. Nelson? Did they have any children?

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Sandy (in Maine)

I don't expect you to track down & up-to-date email addresses, but Cathy DiPietro's is dead. It used to be vdpcom@warwick.net  and she was asking about the VanEtten families in 2002 on this web page:http://www.joycetice.com/query/ap02pg07.htm

Maybe you can put a query answer just below her VanEtten info that

Ada L Wood, dau of Elias R Wood (1847-1915) and Sally Ann Merrill (1849-1922), grew up at Litchfield, and married William George VanEtten in 1901. He was b 23 Feb 1879 at Lockwood, Tioga Co NY. They had many kids and most of them eventually wound up in Tompkins Co NY by 1930, including Ada and William. I will have lots of details on my Rowan web site in a week or two, with the next upload.

Researching John and Jo(h)anna Leahy Desmond from Morris/Liberty/Nauvoo area.

John was born 1814 in Templemartin, County Cork, Ireland and came to states in May 1837. Unsure whether he married Johanna in Ireland or US. They had three known children: Jeremiah (my g.grandfather b. 1849), Mary(b. 1854), and Alice(possibly born 1854). Jeremiah married Rose O'Hargan (daughter of Cornelius and Rose McCormick O'Hargan from Greenwood/West Union, Stueben Co., NY) and had 10 children.

Believe John had brother, Jeremiah (b. 1825 Templemartin) who came over in 1845 and settled in same area.

Especially interested in John and Johanna and their parents. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for info on my Smith family.   The first ancestors that I know of
was Leon Smith and this wife Mary Bryant Smith.  They moved to Skinners
Eddy, Wyoming County  from Wayne County, PA about 1854.  They had 5
children;

Clarence Carson Smith, Lillie Smith Vandervort, Prescott Smith, Mary Leone
Smith Stalford and Edward Earl Smith.  They lived much of their adult lives
in Wyalusing township, Bradford County.

Clarence and Prescott had some kind of business in Camptown circa 1900.

Lillie's husband A L Vandervort had a grain mill in the Wyalusing area.

Mary Leone's husband George Stalford worked for the Lehigh Valley RR.

Edward Earl attended a business college in Elmira, NY and played baseball
for an Elmira team in the mid to late 1890's.

Clarence was married to Mary Avery.
Prescott was married to Lettie Fuller.
Edward was married to Lilia Pickett and Nellie Farr.
