Researching the following individual Solomon Leonard HARRINGTON. The Harrington Gazetteer and the Rock County, WI Gazetteer note him as born 17 December 1808 in Troy, PA. Dear Joyce,
For the past several months I have been doing research on the Joel Campbell
Family. I find that I am his descendent through his son Jonathan via his son John
via his son Grant. I have found some information on Joel but nothing on John. I
did find information on several of John's brothers who traveled to the Salt Lake
valley circ 1846; however, John is not mentioned. Several of his brothers/family
members enlisted in the Nauvoo Legion and perhaps he did also but I find no record
thus far. I did find that he is buried in a cemetery east of Sacramento but have
no idea how he got to Calif. His son, Grant was born in Ridgebury, Bradford, PA.
Perhaps you could give me a idea what would be available if I were to make the trip
to Ridgebury, Bradford County. Is there a historical/genealogical society etc that
might be of assistance?
I appreciate very much any assistance you can give me. Should you be able to help me in any way I thank you. My email address is moranbay@msn.com

Am looking for Ellen MULLIGAN who in the 1930 Census lived with Father, Herbert, in Athens Borough on Church Street. Am trying to locate Ellen so I thought I might start with a school she might have attended. Does anyone have info on Ellen or know the nearest school(s) to that address? BTW, she would have been about age 7 at that time. Also, would you know the location of old phone directories from that era? BTW, you have a wonderful website! Thank you. Jan Coffin
ROSE and Crayton!
I have been searching for quite some time now, and at last I think I have found
the family of my 2nd Great Grandmother Phoebe Ann CRAYTON. While researching the
pages of the Tri-County Genealogical site, I came across the 1850 Census of
FranklinTwp, Bradford County and discovered not only my 2nd Great Grandpa Amos
N ROSE living there with his wife Phoebe Ann and their two children but what
could very be Phoebe's parents William and Lydia CRAYTON and her siblings and
some nieces and nephews as well. Her younger siblings include Hezekiah, Sophronia,
and Sara, and two older brothers John and W. M (my guess here is that W .M was
named after his Father William). Because of the Ages of William and Lydia and
their close proximities where they lived with the others, establishes in my mind
that these CRAYTONs are indeed the Family of Phoebe Ann. However I do not have a
way to verify the linkage at this time.
I have also been searching for the Parents of Amos N ROSE for quite a while as well and may have found them through a person who has mutual interest in these people as well. Amos's father may have been a Nathan ROSE, born about 1800 in Smithfield Twp, Bradford County. My contact claims he was married to a Esther or Ester SEACOY. Esther was married once before, so when she married Nathan, her married name was SEACOY-RAY or REA. Supposedly Esther and Nathan were the parents of three children including Amos and Emaline. Amos was born 7 January, 1825 in Elmira, and Emaline was born sometime between 1825-1830, in Smithfield.
If anyone including any descendants, has any information concerning these two families, please contact me at montanacliff@worldnet.att.net. Dates of marriages, births and deaths and location of each, location of Cemeteries, and maiden names of the ladies would be very useful too.
Thanking you all and good luck!

I have after much searching, located some of my ancestors in Franklin TWP, namely ROSES and CRAYTONS. Looking through the 1850 Census report for FranklinTWP, came across my GG Grandparents Amos N ROSE, Phoebe Ann CRAYTON ROSE and two of their Children. I had always wondered who Grandma Phoebe's parents were, and to my delight I believe I may have found them and some other CRAYTONs who I believe may be some of Phoebe's siblings, nieces and nephews. Because of their ages, I believe William CRAYTON (59) b: New York and his wife Lydia (55) no maiden name given, B: Rhode Island. Grandma Phoebe's siblings would be John (33), W.W. (maybe William), Hezekiah (16), Sophronia (13) and Sara A (9).
I have also been searching for the parents of Grandpa Amos. I have possibly found his parents as well. If they are correct, Amos's Father was Nathan ROSE, born about 1800, Smithfield, Bradford County, and his Mother was Esther or Ester SEACOY-RAY. I don't know for sure, but Grandpa Amos middle initial N could stand for Nathan. Amos and Phoebe named thier first child William Nathan ROSE, therefore, I see a linkage here.
If there is someone or persons who has information on these families and can verify their linkages, I would be most grateful. I know the birthdates of Amos, Phoebe and their Children, dates, places and burials of them and some of their Children. Marriage dates and places would be helpful too.
Thanks to all that can help!

I am looking for a connection between Hiram Wolcott of Pike twp. Bradford Co.Pa. and Seth Rockwell of the same place. Hiram's mother was Abigail Rockwell Wolcott born in Connecticut. A daughter of Ebenezer and his third wife????I believe Seth and Abigail were brother and sister. I would be eternally grateful if someone could come up with the name of Seth's mother. I have been searching for over two years with little success. Could Seth's mother have been Lydia Cogswell? I will wait anxiously to hear from someone regarding this.
Hiram is listed in the 1880 census of Pike Co. Seth was born in 1770 and Abigail in 1775 so they Could be brother and sister.
Sincerely,
Jean (No Surname Signed- Sorry)
Hi, Joyce:
My family archives contain letters from the latter 1800's that discuss ancestors.
In trying to locate the gravesite of James M. Daugherty (sometimes also spelled
Dougherty, esp. in the late 1700's), I came across a letter from Thomas Daugherty's
sister, written in 1891.
This letter states that their grandfather, James Daugherty, is buried "in a field across the road from and in sight of Uncle Dan Bowman's house." In the Bradford County histories, especially those sections that address Towanda and Monroeton, I've seen some discussion of James Daugherty and his brother, William, as well as Daniel Bowman.
My questions are:
(1) where exactly is or was this field? Are there land-tract or surveyor's records
I can access or order copies of? Are there references to the location of Bowman's
farm or Daugherty's?
(2) Does the field still exist as a field? I somehow doubt there is a stone or marker there in any case. However, James Daugherty led an interesting life: He was a member of Hawkins Boone's relief party in the Battle of Fort Freeland (1779), where his brother Sam was killed and scalped by one of the Senecas fighting for the British. James also was captured in 1782 along with Moses Van Campen at Bald Eagle Creek, taken to Quebec, and forced to run the gauntlet. He was released to Boston at the end of the War, and then made his way on foot back to the West Branch of the Susquehanna. He later moved up to the Monroeton area, some years after brother William.
I'd certainly like to pinpoint his resting place, perhaps place a marker there if possible.
Any help or advice you can give me would be most appreciated.
Regards, Paul

Hello Joyce Tice, James and Billie Jo Kelley:
Hope this reaches you. This TRI-COUNTIES site is GREAT, very good work!
Tried earlier to send an email but received failure notice. Our family (DOMER/TOMER) related to KLINE/KLEIN many generations.
My aunt is our family historian/genealogist, has studied these families over 20 years, and has sent me the details. More than happy to send info to you (believe we did, but it was returned in email failure) once we find an email address for the Kelley family in Towanda PA which is current. We are very interested in the Kline Bible... interested in more photos, exchanging information via direct email notes, or even purchasing the family Bible if you might be interested.
Please write me a note back when you get a chance, we look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,
I am on a quest to find my Irish ancestors, at least one of whom was born
in Ridgebury. PA. I especially want to know where in Ireland they came from.
I believe Bartholomew White and wife Kate, listed in 1880 US Census from Ridgebury,
are the first in my family tree from Ireland. Their grandson Daniel White,
according to his obituary, was born there. I am willing to pay for any research
time or copies, etc. Your long list of Irish settlers there made my day! Now I'd
just like to see if you can tell me where my White ancestors figure in the town
history. Thanks so much. Linda Davis,

Dear Joyce,
It was with interest to read of John Dubert and his wife.
I would like to find out about the Fraley Family History.
At one time it was written down and has disappeared.
They came from Germany as near as I could ever find out around 1853. They came by
boat and landed at Ellis Island.
They originally left Augsburg Germany according to records.
Perhaps under the name of Froelich, or Fralick.
They were in the company of the Duberts and both settled on what is now Little York
Road, Springfield Twp.
The Fraley farm was on what is now the Hoppaugh Farm.
The original settlers are buried in Hillside Cemetery, Big Pond. My great-grandmother
was Sophronia Fraley, married to George Nipperd.
Would be interested in finding out any information that might come you way.

I'm trying to find some information on my great great grandfather, Gabriel Davis.
He was married to Harriet E Ladd, and they resided in New Albany, Bradford county
Pa. They had a son Emmit (mortimer) Davis in 1862. She died late in 1863.
Her roots have been traced back with no problem, but Gabriels has led to a dead
end.
We have his enlistment papers from the 50th reg't K company of the Pa Vol on March 22, 1864 at Towanda.
He lists his birth place as Salem, Pa. and was born sometime in 1831-2 from him stating his age at 32 on the enlistment. He ended up getting wounded and captured at the battle of spotsylvania on may 12/13 and then died in the andersonville prison.
Is or was there a Salem in or around your area?
Thanks in advance, Bob Davis SoccerChSC@aol.com

Hello,
According to my research, a Sarah Coverdale lived in bradford county and had
the following children:
Charles b<1831>
William H. b.<1835>
Ann E b. <1837>
John Wesley b. 13 Nov 1842 - my great grandfather
All these children were born in Delaware but the family, ??? father, lived in Bradford county, Burlington Troy & Towanda during the 1850 and 1860 census.
I'm looking for any more info - I think all the boys were in the civil war. Who was their father? Who did the children marry? when? Ect.
Thanks a lot! Chuck Dexter
Hi,
My name is John Reed Austin. I just discovered through your site that I am directly
related to Nathaniel Reed and Eleanor Siminson. My query is that there is a legend
out of Brainerd that John Reed, son of Nathaniel was part Indian because he was a scout
for the WO1812. If that is not possible, is it possible that the Shuarts are. I am
seeking information about possible Blackfeet.
Regards, John Reed Austin
Dear Joyce Tice,
I wrote an earlier email and forgot to mention that the city of Brainerd was in MN.
I also forgot to mention another query about John Reed or even Nathaniel Reed and
their spouces or immediate family if anyone has photos on them at all.

I am looking for information on James L. and Hannah RANDOLPH who lived in Litchfield, Bradford County from the 1830's to 1887. They are buried in the Bumpville Cemetery.
Thank You,

Well I'm back after several years. Still interested in the Babcocks that show up in the 1850 Census indicating births in Bradford and Susquehanna counties.
I have completed my research on Sherman Babcock and have been accepted in the SAR. There are so many loose ends left along the way that it sure would be fun to know more about them.
