Hi Joyce:
I appreciate your help on this one as always. The questions are more about a place than a single person.
I have an 1854 copy of the Will of Alonzo PRATT, son of Calvin & Rosetta PRATT of Troy, PA. They are buried together at the Hilton Cemetery. The Will names among others, Lucy ANDRUS, his sister and my ggg Grandmother. The executors of Alonzo's Will were Perry PRATT and Joseph HILTON.
My questions are regarding the HILTON Cemetery. How is
Joseph HILTON connected to this cemetery and/or these other
families? Also, Is the HILTON cemetery associated with
a particular church or denomination?
I appreciate your insight to these questions.
Thanks very much,
Patrick Andrus

He was born in LeRoy, PA in 1899 (son of Charles Russell PALMER, Sr. and Julia BANKS Palmer), died in Allentown, PA in 1948. She seemed to have dropped out of sight @ 1925. They had three daughters, Julia, Dorothy and Margaret born in 1921, 1924 and 1925. I've heard they may have been married and lived in LeRoy for some time. Would appreciate any hints or direction. My greatgreat-grandfather, Addison B.STONE, served with the 141st Pennsylvania Volunteers in the Civil War. I have his military papers & it lists his place of birth as Tingaleo, PA. in Bradford County. I don't see that town on my map. Where was this town in 1844, when he was born? His parents, Jabez STONE and Zilpha Adams, were from Athens. Is that near Tingaleo? Addison married Mary Doyle in 1867. Where do I write for a copy of their marriage certificate?

Being a descendant, in direct line, of Pierre Joseph de CATERS (1769-1861) and his wife Jeanne Antoinette ERGO (1772-1857), I came across, with great surprise on the web, of this document of indenture - July 6th, 1839 in favour of Samuel BALL SEN. My question is simple : Pierre Joseph de CATERS and his wife having two sons - Constantin de CATERS (1811-1884) & Ernest de CATERS (1815-1876) why this indenture ? Were there family ties between Samuel Ball SEN and the de CATERS/ERGO counterpart ?
Many thanks for any explanations you
may have.

I'm looking for the parents of Joseph M. DAWES/DAWS. He was born in Windham Twp., Bradford Co., in 1839. He first appears as an 11 year old in the 1850 census for Windham, but he is living with Robert NELSON and his wife, Joanna. In 1860, he is still living with the NELSON family. On Dec. 14, 1861, he married Mary Etta EASTABROOKS at Windham, probably at the home of the Nelsons. They removed to Orwell Hill, where they appear in 1880. By 1888, Gay's Gazetteer of Tioga Co., NY, shows them living in Owego, just over the state line from Windham. I'm trying to determine if Joseph is connected to the only other Dawes family in the area, Ophir DAWES of Orwell. Ophir and his wife Drusilla are buried in Jillson Cemetery, Orwell, as are Robert and Joanna Nelson. Lying next to the Nelsons is an unknown Uphelia DAWES. Her death date is probably misread as 1812 (fifteen years before the cemetery opened). Can anyone confirm her death date?

I am looking for George Andrew Hovey's family. He was born 10/10/1836 in Mansfield, New York. He married Saphronia Arvilla Simons, Symonds, Simmons, born 9/15 /1835 in Springfield, Pennsylvania. They apparently were married in Erie, Pennsylvania 7/7/1856.
Copies of two letters to family members from George and Saphronia, informing
them of their daughter, Sylvia's death (b.

for the Civil War on September 25, 1861, later being mustered into service
with Company F, 15th Iowa Infantry on October 10, 1862.
George Andrew addresses his letter to dear brother and sister, Joseph

KEEFE, David O., age 55 appears in the 1910 census residing with his sister-in-law, Katheryn KEEFE, age 60. They lived on Mill Street in Powell (Monroeton). Katheryn was there in 1900, as well, but David was not. He was a Civil War veteran, having served with the 3rd New Hampshire Infantry. He enlisted in Feb 1865. If he is the David O. Keefe (or David O'Keefe) I am seeking, he had a son, Joseph Thomas O'Keefe born in Jan 1884, ostensibly in Liberty. There are at least nine towns/villages,etc. in Pennsylvania, however, so which one is anybody's guess. The mother of David's son was Carrie McGOWIN, also seen as Carrie HESS, Carrie O'Keef, and Carrie FULLER. I can find no record of a marriage between David and Carrie. She had a son born in 1880, named Hiram HESS. I will be grateful for any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

Hello,

I am researching an ancestor, Mary COLE, born October 1756,
known as Molly among family and friends. She was the
daughter of Samuel and Dorothy Hutchins Cole. Mary's husband,
Unknown CULBERTSON, was killed in the 1778 Wyoming massacre. Family
legend says she spent the last years of her life in the home of her brother,
Elisha Cole, but my cousin, Ruth Cowart, couldn't find where she was buried
when she visited the Monroe area in the 1980's researching our Cole ancestry.
Did Molly have any children from her marriage to Mr. Culbertson or marry
again after he was killed? Is anyone else on the list looking for
this family?
