Catharine, may be buried in the Olde Evangelical Cemetery in Liberty along with an infant named Charles Gideon? There is no way to know for sure, because the little cemetery is in ruins. The Olde Evangelical Cemetery is in Liberty on the hill behind what used to be the old milk plant. If one climbs up the hill you can see the remains of tombstones. I believe that Catherine and George had at least 2 children that survived because the 1860 census shows two children as being in the home of Benjamin & Rebecca.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

These are my brick walls in this family. I hope someone out there has more info about these people. They were my grandfather's brothers & sisters.
John C. Rowe was born bet. 1869-1874 and died aft. April 8, 1907. He was listed as a son in the will of his father, Abram Rowe from Millport, Veteran, Chemung Co., NY. His mother was Catherine Charlotte Barber Rowe. He may have married and had two children, Alice and Charlotte. Charlotte may have married a man named Straight or Strait.
The 1892 NYS Census for Chemung Co, Town of Veteran lists a James B. Rowe, born abt 1870 and died bet. 1892-1907. In the 1880 census for Catlin, Chemung Co., NY , James is not listed with the family. He would have been a brother to John C. Rowe. I have no other info about James; he was not listed as a son in Abram's will.
Another brother, Herman C. Rowe, was age 9 in the 1880 census for Catlin. He also was not listed as a son in Abram's will. I did find a Herman Rowe in the SS index with a birth date of Jun 8, 1875, date of death is Aug 1965. Death residence was NY and the SS# was issued in NY.
A sister, Ida Rowe, was listed as age 7 on the 1880 Catlin census. She also was not listed as a daughter in Abram's will.
I am assuming that if they were not listed in the will, they died before it was drawn up in 1907.
I have info on the other siblings in this family. They are: Alice Rowe, b. 1869, d. 1940; Ella Rowe, b. 1874, d. 1928; Samuel B. Rowe, b. 1880, d. 1946; George B. Rowe, b. 1885 & d. aft Nov. 1944; Asa J. Rowe, b. 1890, d. 1944.
Alice married George W. Tompkins and later, Sylvester Decker. She lived in Millport and had 10 children with her first husband.
Ella married James Pratt and had 2 children. They lived in Millport. Her second husband was Erastus E. Ingraham and had one son. They lived in Fenton, Chenango Forks, NY.
Samuel married Emma Louise Zabuskie from Middway, NY. She had a son, Howard C. Carpenter. I don't know if they had any other children. Samuel & Emma are buried in Millport Cem.
George B. Rowe married Carrie Adell. I would like more info about her. He lived in Millport when first married and later in Watkins Glen, NY. He worked for the railroad. I don't know his date of death. They had 6 children.
Asa married Edith Ingraham. She died and he later married Amelia Ingraham. He lived in Millport, Chenango Forks in Broome Co., NY, Waterville in Oneida Co., NY, and Cortland in Cortland Co., NY. They had two children and one adoped daughter. He worked for the railroad. Asa and Amelia are my grandparents.
I hope someone out there recognizes some of these names and contacts me. Some of Abram Rowe's siblings moved to Michigan in the late 1800s & early 1900s, so I guess it's possible some of his children might have gone there also.

I need the ANCESTRY of Thomas HAYDEN, husband of Meltiah ROBBINS. The Robbins lines are well documented, but Mr. HAYDEN remains a mystery. Thanks, Joyce M. Tice - Sullivan-Rutland Genealogy Project
1. Thomas1 Hayden * (#20776) was born 1770-1780.
He married Mary Robbins 26 MAY 1801 in Cummington, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. (Mary Robbins is #20745.) Polly was born 2 APR 1783 in Cummington, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Polly was the daughter of William Robbins* and Meltiah Hill*. Polly and her husband, Thomas, migrated from Cummington, Massachusetts to Richmond & Sullivan Township with their children. Their migration was associated with the migrations of at least two of Polly's brothers and their families. If, as appears to be the case, Thomas was in Sullivan as early as 1821 and the rest of the Robbins family came later in the 1820s, then they came following the Haydens. Most of their daughters intermarried with Sullivan township families indicating that the whole family was there early in the 1820s which is when the marriages occurred. Thomas was on the Richmond tax roll as early as 1826.
Thomas was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. A Thomas Hayden was in Pelham Township at this time.
Thomas registered to pay taxes 1826 in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. 1 improved acre, 55 wild acres, 2 cows and a horse.
Thomas registered to pay taxes 1828 in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Thomas was appointed Tax Collector, with Robert Searles, for this year. 1 improved acre, 92 wild acres, 2 cows and a horse. He was also taxed for his job as Constable.
Thomas was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Thomas and Mary were in Richmond in 1830 with one boy 10-15 (Thomas). Thomas was 50-60 and Mary was 40-50. Thomas Hayden in Sullivan Township in 1821 signed a petition for a road with Jeremiah Rumsey. (Note: Can Rachel Hayden of Bradford County who was married to David Williams be a sister of Thomas? See Heverly, p. 416)
Thomas Hayden* and Mary Robbins had the following children:
+ 2 i. Permelia Meletiah2 Hayden was born 22 JUN 1802.
+ 3 ii. Louisa Hayden was born 19 FEB 1804.
+ 4 iii. Phoebe Hayden was born 13 FEB 1806.
5 iv. Mary Ann Hayden (#38514) was born in Cummington,
Hampshire County, Massachusetts 17 MAY 1808. She married Minard Lawrence*.
(Minard Lawrence* is #38515.) Minard registered to pay taxes 1826 in
Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. 1 acre improved land, 75
wild, one cow.
Minard was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census
in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Mary Ann and Minard had
three daughers and two sons. They were next door to her parents.
6 v. Thomas Hayden (#18919) was born in Cummington, Hampshire
County, Massachusetts 13 DEC 1811. Thomas died 05 JUN 1815 at age 3.
7 vi. Sibyl Hayden (#48443) was born in Cummington, Hampshire

If you are an EDDY descendant and think you or someone in your family might have this disorder, please visit my Nail Patella Syndrome website for more information and links to contact others. http://hometown.aol.com/PACALI/npspage.html Since searching for EDDY descendants with NPS, I have been able to locate 5 or 6 different families who all trace back as far as Samuel! Hi;
I am looking for a Mary LEE who married a Darlington E. Worrell sometime
after 1855. From what I have found, Darlington first married a Sarah Susannah
LEE 5 Nov 1847 in Covington, Tioga, PA. Darlington was a Blacksmith. He and
Sarah had 4 children and then Sarah d. 10 Aug 1855. Darlington then moved to
Troy, Bradford, PA and married Mary LEE. They had one child together and then
Mary died in 1857. She is buried somewhere in Troy, Bradford, PA. I cannot
make a connection between Sarah LEE from Tioga county and Mary LEE from Bradford
county. From what I have found, there was another family of LEE's from Rensslaer,
NY but I cannot get my Mary LEE to fit there either. Does anyone know of another
family of LEE's?
Thank you in advance . . .

Hi All,
What is the connection between Chenago county Mathewson and Mathewsons in
the northern Tier of PA, especially those around Factoryville, PA?
A family hand-me-down is that we are somehow related to the Factoryville, Mathewsons. I have not been able to make any connection.
But, I recently have discovered my great grandmother, Harriet Coolbaugh, was probably adopted. I fShe was found in the family of Nancy Dymond and William Coolbaugh. Harriet was born 24 March 1847, I don't know where. Her husband, my great grandfather Anthony Lloyd, lived a number of years in Chenango county, NY, but after his first wife died, he wound up in PA, and married Harriet in 1877.
I'm just grasping at the straw: "is it possible Harriet was born a Mathewson?" Anybody got a Harriet who disappared?
Thanks for any help,
Bruce Lloyd

My mother Martha Elizabeth Connelly Blanchard is the last surviving daughter of Jennie Packard and Dean Ashley Connelly of Covington, Tioga County. While I have birth, death and marriage dates of Dean and Jennie and daughters I would appreciate any information on the movements of Dean Connelly and information on who he married after Jennies death.
Dean was the son of Elbert O. Connelly of Covington township, born about 1886. He died about 1954 in New York. After his marriage to Jennie he traveled a great deal and by 1930 Jennie was considered the head of the household.
Any information to to satisfy my curiosity would be appreciated.

My grandparents adopted a daughter whom I have found referred to as Vera Close McCallum Blanchard, born 1901 in Pennsylvania. She later married Lucius Baker. Oliver and Angie close Blanchard lived in Nelson, Farmington Township, Tioga County. My father, Leo Close Blanchard, was born to them in 1911. I am interested in learning who Vera's birth parents were. What was her name before the adoption. She is listed as a Blanchard in the 1910 Census.
Thanks for any suggestions. I have found McCallums living in Farmington Township at the same time as Close and Blanchard families. Any Connection?

Alice Rosetta Whitcomb is believed to have been born in 1852-1853 in Athens, Bradford, PA and says so on several documents later in life. I can find no evidence of her in the Tri-counties website, any books on the area, or any censuses. She turns up in Quincy, Adams, IL in 1872 to marry. Does anyone have any bright ideas as to where else to turn?

Cemetery on Rt. 549Does anyone know what cemetery is located on farmland along Rt. 549 between Rt. 6 and Ashley Hill Road? That would be in Tioga County and possibly Richmond Twp.
It sits back from the road in a clump of trees surrounded by a fence. There are monuments amongst the trees. It is only noticeable since the leaves are off of the trees.
Just curious. Thank you for any information that you can give me and the list.
