Hi All-
I'm looking for the parents of Peter Lott (b. 1 May 1774) and any of his
children besides Cornelius Peter. He was married to Mary Jane Smyle
(Smiley). I'm not sure if they were from this area, but there were family
connections and I'm actually trying to find if they had a son named Abraham
G Lott. My 50 year old brick wall! Any Lott family information would be
welcome.
Thanks

Family lore says that Simon KANE (or any of the above spellings) shot a horse-thief or some other sorry individual while working on "the canal." Can't find anything about this, but I know that Simon married Mary Cahill at SS Peter and Paul Church in Elmira on April 20, 1862. He may have been married previously to Margaret BAHEN/BEHAN, or at least that is what was told to us. It seems that Margaret was still alive in 1860 and 1870, living in Waverly with son John KANE. So many mysteries--it keeps me awake at night! Would love some help with this tall tale!
Thanks!

I have purchased at great cost letters written to Nathaniel Hickock of Canton 1866 to 1883 from family members who had migrated throughout the country. These will eventually be transcribed for presentation on the site. But, I need a full account of the siblings, nieces, nephews, children, whatever of this man so I can identify the people who wrote the letters. If you have a good genealogical presentation of the Hickock Family, I need it. MS Word document preferred - Register Format my preference.

Charlotte Burrows married William Sturgis Squires of Sullivan Township. She was b, 1803, Massachusetts. I need to identify her family origins. This is on the Sullivan / Columbia township borders -Tioga - Bradford County border.
In the 1840 Sullivan census a John Burrows or Barrows lived just a few houses from Charlotte and William and may have been a brother. The 1820 census index CD ROM shows no Barrows or Burrows in Bradford or Tioga County PA. Two Burrows families were in Elmira which was then in Tioga County, New York. In his 1876 diary, Lafe (son of Charlotte) refers to Uncle John Bourows helping with the thrashing (Sept 1) John Burrows may even be the Mr. Burrows who married Calista Lewis ???
Please help me identify Charlotte, an early resident of Sullivan Township, Tioga County PA.

This woman who was my maternal great-grandmother is a woman of mystery outdone only by her own mother who was Charlotte Chandler, Chandeler or Chandelier. This woman appears to be an only child She was born around 1864 probably in Sunderlinville, Hector twp, Potter County, PA. It some places it said Gaines Twp. Tioga County, PA. Having traced the birth, marriage, and death of all her 13 children, I have decided that probably Sunderlinville, Hector Twp. is correct as this is what all of the children list on their marriage licenses. Here death was in Elmira, NY and she is buried there. This woman married first Frank Shaver probably in 1879 in Steuben County NY. They probably went to Mi around Jan 1, 1880 and are listed along with John and Juliette Chase Shaver in the 2nd Ward Flint, Genesee County, MI. It is possible that their oldest son was born in Mi and the next five children in NY and the last two daughters in Gaines Twp., Tioga County, PA. Frank died in 1897 and she married George Mattison. It is from this marriage application that comes the name of her parents, Hiram and Charlotte Chandelier. Children by George Mattison, Mina,Earl, Pearl and two other sons.
Marilyn Bess bess@penn.com
Charlotte Chandelier is a woman of mystery. The only proof of her existence I have found to date is her name on the second marriage application of her daughter Martha Adelaide Hibbard. Her granddaughter, Charlotte Juliette Shaver gives the only other inf that we know about her. She married Simon Taft. It is recalled that he is the only grandfather, actually the only grandparent, that my grandfather Shaver could remember . His Grandfather John Shaver died in 1900 and his grandmother before his birth. Aunt Lottieas as I knew her wrote further that Charlotte's father died that her mother remarried a Moore and had Josephine who was called Aunt Jody and Emogene. Josephine married a Stiles and lived in Harrison Valley, PA. She help raise some of the Frank Shaver children after their father's death. Now Josephine is the daughter of Marcus and Mahalia Moore of Sunderlinville, Hector Twp. Potter county. Emogene married in 1874, Theodore Taft, the younger brother of Simon Taft and named her first son Hiram.
Simon Taft remarried the second time. His granddaughter knows nothing of a first marriage but some Taft research have Charlotte listed. as his first wife. I would appreciate any imput.
