Betsey GOODRICH (1805-1880) m John FOSBURGH abt 1828

I'm searching for the parents of Betsey GOODRICH b 14 December 1805 in NY, m John FOSBURGH abt 1828 in NY, and d 28 November 1880 in South Creek Twp., Bradford Co., PA. John and Betsey are both interred in Fries Cemetery at Columbia Cross Roads.

John FOSBURGH b 14 August 1806 in NY and d 19 September 1872 in Gillett, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania. John's parents are unknown.

John and Betsey are first found in the 1830 census of Towanda Township. In 1840 they were in Columbia Twp., in 1850 they were in Springfield Twp., in 1860 and 1870 they were in Smithfield Township. They finally settled at Gillett about 1872.

John and Betsey had at least eight children:
Harriet b 1829 m Lawson PARMENTER
John Payne b 1831 m Martha LOOMIS, and later Ellen HEATH
Alonzo b 1836 m Rozilla RICH
Porter b 1838 m Ella MILLER, and later Harriet THOMAS
Maria Dolly b 1840 m Samuel DAVIES, and later John FOSBURGH
Bennett O. b 1843 m Laura MILLER
Emeline Augusta b abt 1846 m John SCHOUTON
Susan R. b 1849 m Cevilius BERRY

Betsey's husband, John FOSBURGH, had some early land dealings with Elisha S. GOODRICH and with Elnathan GOODRICH who had come to Bradford County from Delaware County, NY. There may be some connection between my Betsey and this Elnathan GOODRICH but I have not discovered it.

surnames-SALINA,BELLOMA(BELLOMO),HOLLENBECK(HOLLENBACK)CARBONI(CARBONE)

In probably 1919 Thomas Salina applied for an 'Adjusted Compensation' He was released from the Army Dec 30 1918. This application was done in Mansfield, PA. There is no date on the Application. The witnesses were: John Bellomo, who had known the applicant for 25 years and Pasco Carbone(who became the father-in-law), who had known him for 8 years. John Bellomo had a son born in Mansfield, whose name I think was Albert. Would there be any local records for these people? They all eventually lived and died in Elmira,NY. Anything on Hollenbeck or Hollenback would be good, one Hollenback went to Elmira NY and started stores in the 1700's.

WHITEHEAD

Hello, all --
I am in search of information about Isaac Whitehead, my GG-grandfather, who arrived in Tioga County (Lawrenceville) about 1820, having removed from Massachusetts. Isaac died in 1848, leaving his second wife, Sarah Lugg (my GG-grandmother), with two young boys -- Charles Byron and Waldo. Isaac's first wife was Betsey, who predeceased Isaac by several years. They had an infant daughter named Huldah, who died at five weeks. Isaac, his first wife and infant child are buried in the Lindsley Cemetery, Lindley Township, Steuben County, NY. Isaac died in 1848, at about 43 years of age. I am curious to know where in Massachusetts Isaac came from, and also who his parents were. I also hope to find out if he and his first wife had other children besides Huldah.

As for Isaac Whitehead's and Sarah Lugg's two sons, I know that Waldo was killed in the Civil War at age 18. He was unmarried. Charles Byron ("C.B."), my great-grandfather, was married to Mary Ferris. I believe that Mary have been C.B.'s second wife. It is possible that his first wife's name was Maryann, or a something similar. Though I have quite a bit of information about C.B.'s later years, which were lived out in Bradford, McKean County, PA, I would like very much to find out if he was married more than once and if he had any children besides the two of which I am aware (Waldo and Sara). C.B. had some connection to a Eugene Whitehead and Jennie Whitehead of Potter County, PA, as they are mentioned in his will. Eugene and Jennie were siblings, but I have as yet been unable to determine their relationship to C.B.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Frances M. Whitehead
