Queries & Surname Listings

NOTE 23 JUNE 2001. From the site's founding in July 1996 to early 1999
I maintained all queries and surname listings for our three counties in
manually edited pages. They are still on the site and are listed
lower on this page. From July 1999 to June 2001, I used the GenConnect
Boards for the queries of all three counties. They are presently undergoing
a merger and change. From June 2001 to present I have reverted to my earlier
manual method.
Send all queries and surname listings to TriCountie@aol.com.
These will then be included right on the site where they can most easily
be accessed and where they will be included in our own search engines.
You may also resubmit any queries you posted to GenConnect so that they
are included on the Tri-Counties Query Boards. If you have a very old query
on the site and have had an email change, just resubmit the whole thing.
Older pages are not maintained.
To Submit Queries,
Put Birth Surnames in ALL CAPS. Married names or other surname aliases
should go in normal font. Queries submitted in all caps will be returned
to the sender for editing. The subject line should say either Tioga or
Bradford or Chemung to tell us which county you want this to be posted
on. Also, it is helpful to give a place (township, village) as well as
a name. Keep your queries brief, concise and in standard English with standard
punctuation. We want them to be formatted so that we need only copy and
paste them to the page without the need to edit them. Your cooperation
in this will help us operate more efficiently. We reserve the right to
edit spelling - i.e.. all instances of "Cemetary" will be corrected to
Cemetery.
To Submit Wills, Deeds, Obituaries,
Bible Records, other materials of historical relevance to
our area - These should all be sent to JoyceTice@aol.com.
I prefer attached Word or Excel files, but if you can't do that, just type
them intoyour email and I'll edit them from there.
