Jabez married Naomi PETTIBONE his first cousin b. Jan 2, 1786 on Sept 15, 1808 in Otis, Mass. Lived in E.Smithfield and had 8 children, Sylvia b. 1822, David, Stephen b. 1817, John, James b. 1826, Almira b. 1819. 1. Jabez1 Fletcher * was born in Massachusetts 1783.

He married Naomi Pettibone *. Jabez' parents were born in England. He was born in East Haddam. Massachusetts in 1783 and moved to East Smithfield in1811.

Jabez Fletcher* and Naomi Pettibone* had the following children:

+ 3 ii. Stephen F. Fletcher was born 1816.

Second Generation

2. Almira2 Fletcher (Jabez1) birth date unknown.

She married Abraham Kniffen BEF 1844. Abraham was born 1819 in Pennsylvania. Abraham was the son of Andrew Kniffen*. Abraham was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Abraham was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Abram was 59 years old, b. PA. m in NY and F in NY. His wife was Sarissa M. age 53 b PA f in VT and m in PA., daughter Esther A. age 9 b PA and sister in law Lottie Snook age 47, b PA, f in VT and m in PA.

Almira Fletcher and Abraham Kniffen had the following children:

+ 4 i. Joel S.3 Kniffen was born 1844.

5 ii. U. Darius Kniffen was born in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1845. Darius died in Pennsylvania, at age unknown. He married Anna Elizabeth Webler. Anna was born 19 Oct 1855 in Armenia Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Anna was the daughter of Choral Henry Webler and Caroline Ophelia Monroe. Anna died 20 Jun 1944 in Troy, Troy Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 88. Anna lived in Troy. She and Darius did not have children.

Darius was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. U. S. Kniffen was next door to L. J. Kniffen who was next door to J. S. Kniffen.

+ 6 iii. Levi J. Kniffen was born 1848.

+ 7 iv. S. Nelson Kniffen was born 1855.

 3. Stephen F.2 Fletcher (Jabez1) was born in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA 1816.

He married Rhoda Scouten. Rhoda was the daughter of Abram Scouten* and Eliza Unknown (Scouten Mabie).
Stephen F. Fletcher and Rhoda Scouten had the following children:

8 i. John P.3 Fletcher was born in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA 09 JUN 1843. See Bradsby Page 806.

+ 9 ii. Benjamin Franklin Fletcher was born 20 JAN 1847.
Third Generation

4. Joel S.3 Kniffen (Almira2 Fletcher, Jabez1) was born in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1844.

He married Alice Unknown (Kniffen). Alice was born 1851 in Pennsylvania.

Joel was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Ward Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. J. S. Kniffen lived next to J. S. Kniffen with wife Allis and three sons, Franklin, Wesley and Pearly.

Joel S. Kniffen and Alice Unknown (Kniffen) had the following children:

 6. Levi J.3 Kniffen (Almira2 Fletcher, Jabez1) was born in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1848.
 

He married twice. He married Mary Unknown (Kniffen) BY 1869. Mary was born ABT 1851. Mary died 02 JUL 1876 at age 25. Her body was interred JUL 1876 in Cease Cem.,Armenia,Bradford,PA. He married Sarah Unknown (Kniffen) AFT 1876. Sarah was born 1851 in Pennsylvania.

Levi was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Ward Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. L. J. Kniffen with wife Sarah and children John and Nellie lived between J. S. Kniffen and U. D. Kniffen.

Levi J. Kniffen and Mary Unknown (Kniffen) had the following children:

13 i. John4 Kniffen was born in Pennsylvania 1869.

14 ii. Nellie Kniffen was born in Ward Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1876.

 7. S. Nelson3 Kniffen (Almira2 Fletcher, Jabez1) was born in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1855.

He married Emma E. Howe *.

S. Nelson Kniffen and Emma E. Howe* had the following child:

15 i. Linnaeus E.4 Kniffen was born in Armenia Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania 29 MAR 1880. Lynn died 11 AUG 1969 in Canton, Canton Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 89. His body was interred AUG 1969 in Alba Cemetery, Canton Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He married twice. He married Carrie U. Moore. Carrie was born 29 Oct 1880 in Canton Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Carrie was the daughter of Walter J. Moore and Adoran E. Upham*. Carrie died 16 Nov 1949 in Canton Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 69. Her body was interred Nov 1949 in Alba Cemetery, Canton Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He married Maude Packard (Thomas) AFT 1949. 9. Benjamin Franklin3 Fletcher (Stephen F.2, Jabez1) was born in New York 20 JAN 1847.

He married Julietta Rumsey 21 SEP 1876. Julietta was born 08 AUG 1847 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Julietta was the daughter of Seth S. Rumsey and Jerusha Kelts. Julietta died AFT 1900 in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA, at age unknown. See Bradsby Page 806.

Benjamin Franklin Fletcher and Julietta Rumsey had the following children:

16 i. Velma4 Fletcher was born in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA 23 APR 1881.

17 ii. E. Pearl Fletcher was born in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA 04 AUG 1882.

18 iii. Maude Fletcher was born in Smithfield township, Bradford, PA 11 JUN 1884.
