Jesse died 28 MAY 1858 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 85. His body was interred MAY 1858 in State Road Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
He married Susannah Holden* BEF 1800. (Susannah Holden* is #7864.) Her body was interred in State Road Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Was Susanna sister of Daniel Holden of Mansfield?

3 ii. Jesse Orvis Jr. (#10800) was born in Connecticut 15 AUG 1803. Jesse died 1881 in Wisconsin, at age 77. He married twice. He married Betsey Rowley. (Betsey Rowley is #6775.) Betsey was born 1804 in Troy Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Betsey was the daughter of Reuben Rowley* and Susannah Campbell*. Betsey died 1842 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 38. See Pioneers & Patriots of Bradford C0unty page 65 Vol.2.
He married Elsie Almira Austin*. (Elsie Almira Austin* is #10244.) Elsie was born 1801/10. Need to get Austin genealogy again to find her connection.

4 iii. Eleazar Orvis (#7199) was born in Pennsylvania 1808. Eleazar died 1863 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 55. His body was interred 1863 in State Road Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He married twice. He married Celestia Rich* BEF 1835. (Celestia Rich* is #9612.) Celestia was born 1812. Celestia died 1845 at age 33. Her body was interred 1845 in State Road Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Tombstone in Orvis plot says 1812- 1845 check at cemetery for sure. Orvis book says 1837, but children were born until 1843. and Miranda's starting in 1846. Celestia is probably part of the family of Elisha Rich who came from Vermont and was first pastor of Troy Church. Link needs to be established. One of ther children is named Elisha Rich Orvis, thereby establishing the connection.
He married Miranda Wilkins 1845. (Miranda Wilkins is #7201.) Miranda was born 1821 in New York. Miranda was the daughter of Nehemiah Wilkins* and Clarissa Unknown (Wilkins). She married David Welch AFT 1863. Miranda died 1890 at age 69. Her body was interred 1890 in State Road Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Nehemiah Wilkins living w/ Miranda in 1860 so I assume him to be her father.
Eleazar was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Celestia and Eleazar had two females and one male under 5, one female 5-10, one male 10-15 in their household. Celestia was 20-30 and this was her last census. She died and Eleazar remarried before the next.
In the Census of 1850, Eleazar was listed as a head of household in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Eleazar, Jesse, and Almon were farmers. Eleazar's property was worth $3500.
In the Census of 1860, Eleazar was listed as a head of household in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Eleazer was a farmer with real property worth $500 and personal property worth $1200. Rosetta and Margaret were seamstresses. George was a farm laborer. Do not know which children are Celestia's and which Miranda's. George is Celestia's. Need to find out whn Celestia died and when David Welch died. Presidents, Soldiers, Statesmen, pub. Hardesty, 1895 for info on George E. ORvis and parentage.
5 iv. Almon Orvis (#7200) was born in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1816. He married Betsey Unknown (Orvis) BEF 1843. (Betsey Unknown (Orvis) is #7212.) Betsey was born 1822 in New York.
