Hi Joyce:
My name is Mark Claypool and I live at 375 Barnes Hill Road in Horseheads, NY (Town of Catlin) {Note from JMT - Cemetery is on Catlin/Big Flats border, just inside Big Flats Line}. One of my hobbies is genealogy. A few years ago, I recorded information off from 5 grave stones in a small cemetery across the road from my house. I was concerned about their condition, since they dated from the mid 1850s and were very badly weathered. These five stones are all related to the Carr family, the first settlers on the lands surrounding this area where I now live.
I have attached the information regarding the inscriptions found on the stones in the form of a WORD document. Hopefully this is okay. I am fairly confident that what I have recorded is accurate. Where I could not make out the inscription, I have left as underscore.
Hopefully, this information can be of use to someone. It was nearly gone forever.

Hi Joyce,
I have seen your reference to the Carr Cemetery listed as Big Flats, and my guess is they are one in the same. It is in the Catlin Township, but only about 300 yards from the Big Flats town line as its marked now. The town line may have shifted around a bit over the past 150 years as well, who knows for sure. Incidentally, the cemetery can be found about midway between the mailboxes for 375 and 391 Barnes Hill Road, about 40 feet in.

Note from JMT - On the "official" Chemung County map of
cemeteries, it shows as Number 19 just south of the Catlin line in Big
Flats. In any case, Mark's explicit directions should get you there.

Chemung County, New York
The following information details the inscriptions found on grave markers in a small cemetery located along Barnes Hill Road in the Town of Catlin. From the intersection of Sing Sing Road and Barnes Hill Road, it is located 1.8 miles up Barnes Hill Road on the right side of the road. The cemetery is now fully over grown with trees and brush. It has a black metal pipe fence surrounding it. There are five stones laid out as shown in the diagram below. They are now badly weathered and parts of the inscriptions are unreadable. Their inscriptions are as follows:
