I am still working on this family and your site has been very helpful but as of now this is what I have. William Knox, b. 6 May 1768 d. 1838 Acedemy Corners Pa. bur. unmarked grave in Carpenter Cemetery, Deerfield Twp. Tioga Co. m. 1790 Margaret Colton. He, I believe was first of this branch in Pa. according to History of Tioga Co.

NEXT GENERATION William Knox Jr. was a Hotel keeper in Deerfield Two. reportedly Knoxville was named for him and his brother Archibald. he m. Sally Colvin who was b. 11 Oct. 1798 Holland Purchase, Herkimer Co. N.Y. Their children: 1. Almira b.5 Feb. 1815 d. 1887 bur. Lawrenceville Cemetery, Tioga Co. m. Elias Horton 2. John Colton b. 18 Feb. 1817 d. 26 Aug. 1880, bur Wellsboro Cemetery Tioga Co. He was well known lawyer and held several offices among them Attorney General of Pa. m. Adaline Kilbourne 3 Dolly b. 10 Jan. 1819 d. 19 April 1875 bur. Free Church Cemetery Tioga Co. m. as 2nd wife John E. White 4. Emily b. 10 Jan. 26 Academy Corners 5. Caroline, b. 10 Dec. 1829 6. James Butterfield, b. 4 Nov. 1831 m. June(Jennie) Z. Stahley John Knox m. Mary Faulkner who was b. 1788 N.Y. State 1850 Census lists following in their household but not sure all are children. Eliza A., William J., Maria, John Jr. and George W.

ARCHIBALD, He was a Farmer-Merchant and reportedly one of the ones Knoxville was named for. m. Caroline Scott who was b. 1796 in Mass. died 20 Apr or May 1855 in Knoxville and bur. Free Church Cemetery. She dau. of Luke and Chloe Scott. 1850 Census lists one child Dolly

Have some information on next generations but not enough nor verified except for my grandmother who was Jannett Knox dau. of Franklin William and 2nd wife Catherine Johnson.
