1846 10-Sep D Long, Ezra Osden In Towanda, on Tuesday, the 8th of September inst. At ten minutes past eleven O'Clock, AM., Ezra Osden Long, son of Maj. Ezra Long, of Troy, in the 26th year of his age. The sickness of the deceased was of short duration, only about ten days, during which he suffered severe pain. His last moments were calm and serene, he died without a struggle or a groan, falling asleepin the arms of his redeemer. Thus has fallen a young man, in the bloom of his youth,and with prospects of no ordinary character opening before him. His native talent, acquired ability, and his delportment were such as to entitle him to the love and esteem of all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. He was a graduate of the Union College, Schenectady, N. Y. His remains were removed by his relatives to this place, and intered by the side of other deceased members of this family.

1846 22-Oct D Webb, John Leland At his residence in Smithfield, on the evening of the 17th inst., after an illness of but a few hours, John Leland Webb, Esq., aged 52 years, seven months, and twenty two days. The loss of Mr. Webb will be severely felt by the citizens of this county, as he has long held a high place in the estimation of the public. He emigrated to this county from one of the Eastern States in early life, with nothing but an untireing energy, an uncompromising integrity, and a sound discriminating judgement, to aid him in starting on the journey of life. By industry he succeeded in acquiring a competency of worldly goods, and by his integrity and kindly disposition he won the esteem and confidence of all who knew him. Mr. Webb has been called upon, by the suffrages of his fellow-citizens, to fulfill various county offices, in all of which he gave entire satisfaction to his constituents. In the fall of 1845, and again on the 13th of the present month--but four days before his death--he was elected to a seat in our State Legisl
