Last Will and Testament of
Amos Bennett

Know all men whom it may concern I Amos Bennett being from and of the township of Towanda County of Bradford and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania having been for some time past in a declining state of health, yet at present of sound mind and memory knowing the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of life for the purpose of making a just disposition of whatever property I may die possessed have thought proper to make and declare the following to be my last will and testament and first It is my will that at my decease my body be buried with decency, and secondly that all just debts I may owe at that time be paid out of my personal property, thirdly all my goods and chattels lands and tenements which may remain after the payment of any debts I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Anna Bennett her heirs and assigns subject to the payment of the small legacy herein after mentioned. Fourthly to my twelve children Amos Bennett Jun., David Bennett, Gideon Bennett, Thomas Bennett, John Bennett, Benjamin Bennett and Nathan Bennett – Martha Benjamin, Hannah Ackley, Susannah Bailey, Prudence Stricklin and Hitta Sealee I give the sum of One dollar each to be paid to them by my said wife when she can make it convenient if at any time during her life, if not to be paid out of the said estate at her decease. This small sum is given to them that I have not forgotten them having heretofore given to each one of my children all the assistance in my power to give. 5th and lastly I do hereby name and appoint two of my sons in law Richard Benjamin and Joshua Bailey Excutors of this my last Will and Testament In Witness where of I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Eighth day of February one thousand eight hundred and thirteen.
