A PRINTER'S DEVIL THAT IS SPROUTING WINGS

We hear occasionally about people being so good that their wings were sprouting, but we never before heard of a printer’s devil that sprouted any.  A printer’s devil is the boy who is just starting in to learn the printer’s trade and being associated with the class that he is, naturally he tries to be a young devil, and hence is called the printer’s devil.  In many cases he is an imp in every sense of the word; the prospects of his learning to fly are usually not very good, but the Advertiser has one graduate from the devil class that is learning to fly.   This is Arthur Swan, who is now with an aero squadron at Kelley Field, Texas.   Arthur has qualifications that would make him a good aviator and we hope that he gets a chance to fly in France and down some of the Huns.   The above picture shows him in his uniform.   He is the son of Mrs. Evelyn Swan and grandson of Mr. And Mrs. John Lamb, of this boro.
