Corporal Walter Gardner SOLDIER BOY TAKES BRIDE Corporal Walter Gardner, of this boro, who has recently received his
honorable discharge from the U. S. army, was married last Sunday evening
at the home of his brother, Peter Gardner, of this boro. His bride
was Miss Jennie Thomas, of Blossburg, a sister to Roy Thomas, who was recently
reported as killed in action. Walter was one of the local boys who
answered the call of his country and by his soldierly qualities and strict
attention to duties at camp soon won promotion. He did not get a
chance at the Hun, as he was among those who were valuable in this country
to train the young soldiers. We understand the young couple will
make their home in this boro, and we wish them happiness. –W. S.
