1947 view of Mansfield High School. Front section , the gym, was built about 1927 attached to the old Brick School. In 1939, the Brick School was torn down and the new school built surrounding the central gym.

ANDERSON, William Paul - William Paul Anderson, 78, of Swansboro, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at his home. Born on Feb. 9, 1937, he was a son of the late William Robert and Geraldine Bailey Anderson. He taught history at Williamston Junior/Senior High Schools in the Pennsylvania school system for over 35 years and completed eight years of service in the Naval Reserve. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Anderson, formerly Jeanne Andrews of Millerton; three daughters, Debra Glover, Cathleen Warble, Colleen Anderson; a son, Billy Anderson; sister, Margaret Rose; five grandchildren, Richie Morgan, Brian Morgan, Erin Morgan, Stephen Morgan, Elizabeth Warble; and two great-grandchildren, Ryder Morgan and Taylor Morgan. In loving memory of grandson, Joey Glover. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Anderson and Butch Anderson. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, at Silver Creek Free Will Baptist Church on Pellitier Loop Road.  Age 71, of Watkins Hill Road, Columbia Cross Roads, PA, diedFriday, April 4, 2008, at home with her family by her side. Family and friends are invited to call Monday, April 7, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Troy, PA. Beverly's service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Brophy of the Roseville-Mainesburg United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Tioga County Memorial Gardens. She was born in Elmira, NY on February 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Rexford and Margurite Holton Crippen and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. Beverly was a homemaker and enjoyed her family; her motherly instincts helped her not raise one family but two, having raised her granddaughter after the tragic loss of her daughter, Kathy. She loved her family, kids in general, and had a passion for traveling. Survivors include her loving husband, Merle "Stub" Watson; a son, R. Gavin and Karen Watson of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; daughters, Carmel Watson of Columbia Cross Roads, PA and Diane Boone of Oceanside, CA; five grandchildren, Travis Watson, Tristine and Anthony Prieto, Ashley Watson, Braden Boone and Zenan Al'Shahrani; a great-granddaughter, Elaina Prieto; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Barbara Crippen of Mansfield, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Harvey Woodburn of Elmira, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. HUSTED, Richard D. - Richard D. Husted, 82, passed away on Saturday Oct. 27, 2018. Richard was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Mansfield, to Elvira (Price) and John Husted. Dick was a graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for eight years. Dick was an entrepreneur who owned and operated many businesses including co-owning Husted Pallets in Roseville, and Blue Lake Builders Construction. He drove truck for numerous trucking companies and was also the code enforcement officer for the Town of Dix until his retirement in 2016. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Edna; sister, Shirley Bailey; children, Rick of Painted Post, N.Y.; John of Buffalo, N.Y.; Dale (Deb) of Caton, N.Y.; and Joel (Stacy) of Montour Falls, N.Y.; Kim LaRue of Hammondsport, N.Y.; Linda Gregory of Watkins Glen, N.Y.; Greg (Lisa) LaRue of Elmira Heights, N.Y.; and Diane (Charlie) Foster of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred (Monalee) Johnston; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ben, Diane and Travis Bond. Richard was preceded in death by his parent's Elvira and John Husted; first wife, Freda Johnston Husted; sister, Tess Beard; brothers, Gordon, Mike, Ed, John, and Joe Husted; and grandson, Kyle E. Gregory. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at Haughey Wood Funeral Home, 119 5th St, Watkins Glen, N.Y. KENT, Dorothy - Mrs. Dorothy Clark, age 35, of Mansfield, R.D. 3, died Thursday, December 21, 1972 at the Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at the Kuhl Funeral Home (formerly Shaw and Robena Funeral Home) at Mansfield, on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Lee Damon of the Bakerburg Community  Church, Mainesburg, officiated.  She is survived by husband, David; daughter, Kathleen at home; sons, Daniel and Kent, both at home; parents, J. B. and Ettie Trowbridge Kent of Millerton; sister, Mrs. Roy Jones of Mansfield; brothers, Albert and Jay, both of Millerton, Charles Kent of Mansfield.  She was active in the Lord's work with the Intervaristy Christian Fellowship Group at Mansfield College and area churches.

KNOWLTON - Harold A. “Harry” “Beano” Knowlton, 70, of Mansfield, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Harold was born March 19, 1937 in Tioga County, a son of Richard and Dorothea (Rose) Knowlton. Beano was employed by North Penn Gas Co. for 30 years. He was a member of the Mansfield VFW and the North American Hunting Club. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Beano enjoyed his family and hanging out with his pals and coffee buddies. Beano is survived by two sons, Rob Knowlton of Mansfield, Lonny Knowlton of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; daughter, Tammy Knowlton of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Paige, Hali, Schuyler; a special companion, Linda Wheeler of Whitneyville; brother and sister-in-law, David (Rosa) Knowlton of Mansfield; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Carl) Loud of Mouresville, NC. He was preceded in death by three sister, Margaret Bogaczyk in 2006, Loris Demming in 1981, and Mary Jeanine Knowlton in 1945. Family and friends were invited to call on Tuesday, April 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory and Monuments, PC, Mansfield. PAGE, Edgar E. [SRGP 88339] – Edgar E. Page, 66, of The Villages, Fla., died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003. He was raised in Mansfield, taught school in Troy and retired from teaching in Dade County, Fla.. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert [Hap] Page. 75, of Daggett, PA, died January 10, 2013, at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA. She was born March 25, 1937, in Mainesburg, PA, the daughter of Elmer & Anna Baity Smith. Shirley retired from Paper Magic, Troy, PA, and was a member of the Daggett United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Joy Rumsey of Millerton, PA; four grandchildren, Travis Johns of Alpine, NY, Jason Johns of DesMoines, IA, Christopher Rumsey of Charlotte, NC, Alesia Whipple of Millerton, PA; a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Smith of Mansfield, PA. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Winston, in 2004, sons, Steve in 1993, Rick in 1999, a daughter, Sharon in 1958, & a sister, Audrey Clark. YORK Roger D. York [SRGP 08077]

75, of Roseville, died Tuesday May 1, 2012, at home.  He was born April 14, 1937, in Sullivan Township, the son of Ralph and Idella Ashley York.  He worked as the maintenance repairman at the Pennsylvania State Armory in Mansfield for 37 years. His red polka dot hat was often seen at the Roseville United Methodist Church and the York Hollow Hunting Club. He was a Past Master of Friendship Lodge # 247 F&AM.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Alene Harris; a son, Travis York of Roseville; two daughters, Jennie York of Jackson Center, Grace Marie (Rob) Ransom of Pennsdale; grandchildren, Elijah and Lena Ransom; and siblings, Bird, Grace, Elden and Garry York.  Calling hours will be held at the Roseville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, May 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Masonic service will follow at 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Roseville United Methodist Church on Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Roseville Cemetery.
