Gafford School District from 1875 Atlas

Gafford School District in the southeast corner of Sullivan Township is mostly "on the mountain," Armenia Mountain that is. It borders Ward Township to the south in Tioga County  which once was part of Sullivan Township, and Armenia Township in Bradford County. The township always was sparsely populated and is even moreso in the present time. It is still all dirt roads.
It is a little known fact that the remains of the Gafford School were moved down "off the mountain" and attached to the State Road Baptist Church where it remains to this day.
