Nehemiah Hodges and Sally Shearman were early settlers in Sullivan Township on the very north, bordering Rutland Township. Their name remains in the creek that flows through their former property and joins Elk Run. It is now called Hodd's Creek as a distortion of the original Hodges. The Hodges Family Burial Ground remains on the property that was theirs. Charlene FISCHER Kolterman located this Bible record in North Dakota a few years back.
