I have enjoyed looking thru so much of your site. My aunt Ruth Kinney (McIntyre) has parts of her book on the website too. What an enormous amount of time you have spent and I personally want to thank you. I actually grew up in Bentley Creek, graduated from what was then SRU High School in East Smithfield, I went into the Air Force in 1968-1972. I have come back to visit several times including for our class reunions, and now both my dad and mom (Rexford and Joyce Overacker) are buried in the Hilton cemetary in West Burlington.
The reason I am writing is to correct an error on http://www.joycetice.com/cemb/union07.htm
Under the Mi-Pr link, I was looking for my grandparents George and Minerva Overacker. I noticed both of their names are mispelled. The first Overacker listed (Elmer) is correct as well as his wife Grace. Elmer is the son of George and Minerva. However Elmer's sister Alice and brother Frederick last name is listed as Overbacker, it has an extra b in the name. My grandfather and grandmother George and Minerva name is mispelled as well, it has the extra b in it.
So the corrections should be
1. Elmer Overacker s/o George & Minerva
2. Grace Overacker wife of Elmer Overacker
3. Alice Overbacker should read Alice Overacker
4. Frederick Overbacker should read Frederick Overacker
5. George Overbacker should read George Overacker
6. Minerva Overbacker should read Minerva Overacker
Several years ago I was up in Dade City, Florida, looking in some of the shops and happened to see a lady wearing a shirt mentioning East Smithfield. When I told her my maiden name, and my parents' names, she recognized my dad's name as just having documented it on her research. It turns out Pat SMITH Raymond is a cousin, my mom's maiden name is Smith (Joyce May Smith whose father Harold was Ruth Kinney's brother} . She had just updated the information about my father passing away. Now what are the chances of meeting a cousin you did not know you had, while she was on vacation in Florida, in the same shop. She sent me a text document of all the Smith generations, which has helped clear up a lot of questions I had. I now live just north of Tampa, Florida in a little town called Lutz.
I have another question for you. I have a lot of old pictures and documents, some of the flood of Elmira back in 40s I believe is the date, and also since my great grandfather J.R. Smith and wife Mary were the owners of the general store in Granville Center, I have a lot of interesting pictures and articles as well. How would you prefer these be sent to you?
