The following information has been transcribed from the Bible of my great-grandfather, Floyd Lafayette Leonard. Most of this line of the Leonard’s relocated from Bradford County, PA. to Holt County, NE and Polk County, IA., including John Clinton Leonard and Amanda Fanning (Leonar).

Bible of Floyd Lafayette Leonard and Myrtle Grace Stevens Leonard:

Floyd Lafayette Leonard, born at West Burlington, Penn. on April 1, 1866. Son of John Clinton Leonard and Amanda Catherine Fanning. Married Myrtle Grace Stevens on March 9, 1889. Died, February 8, 1945.

Myrtle Grace Stevens (Leonard), born at Des Moines, Iowa on July 20, 1873. Died December 22, 1939. Daughter of John Allen Stevens and Maria Catherine Wolfe.

Children of Floyd and Myrtle Leonard:

Hazel Georgia, born February 3, 1890 in Neligh, Nebraska

Ollie Chester, born, July 5, 1892, in Des Moines, Iowa

Clair Frank, born November 11, 1895 in Des Moines, Iowa. Died December 24, 1905 in Des Moines. Killed by Street Car # 163 on Fort Des Moines Line. Died at Mercy Hospital. Last words, "Don’t worry mamma, I am not hurt, I am alright, will they bring the little white hearse?"

Leola, born May 14, 1898 in Greenfield, Iowa. Died May 17, 1898 in Greenfield, Iowa.

Karl, born May 28, 1899 in Greenfield, Iowa.

Lyle, born July 23, 1901 in Greenfield, Iowa. Died September 17, 1905 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Doris Winnie, born August 4, 1904 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Lucille Beatrice, born August 8, 1907 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Lenore Margaret, born July 5, 1910 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kathryn Jessie, born March 12, 1913 in Des Moines, Iowa. Died June 15, 1917 in Des Moines, Iowa. Food poisoning.
