Lockwood Farm Burials

Location: Lockwood farm on Barney Hill Road in Nelson Township.
Access: Private
Mr. Seely learned of this cemetery through his local contacts. It is small
containing fewer than 5 burials about 100 yards south of Barney Hill Road. Mr.
Seely did not attempt to read the stones. |

Nelson Boro Churches.
As I mentioned previously, Nelson Boro had two churches, the Methodist
Episcopal which was on the south side, on the old Rt 49; and the Beecher's
Island Presbyterian Church, which stood at the S.W. Corner of the Nelson Cem.
The former was moved to the new Nelson community center complex and is still in
use. My ggf, Rev. Henry David Goodrich, was one of it's ministers. The
Presbyterian Church was closed and unfortunately was allowed to deteriorate, and
was finally demolished. (Bill Thompson) |
