08 MAY 2004 The Erin Historical Society now sponsors The Annual Erin Old School House Picnic; this year it will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of The Old School House Picnic. 
    There will be a Pig Roast at the Erin Fire Hall on Route 223 in Erin on Saturday, May 8th, 2004 from noon until all are served, or the food is gone.  The meal is $6 per person and includes everything.  From 2 - 4 PM, the Erin Historical Museum will be open to the public.  From 4 - 6 PM, there will be a '50's - '60's dance with a DJ at the fire all (no charge for this).  We are raffling a beautiful quilt, hand done by Sandy Bonci; she donated the quilt, and the proceeds will go to the Erin Historical Society.  We expect to have a wonderful time and invite everyone to join us.

Second Annual Bradford County Library Carnival, VFW Grounds in East Smithfield, May 20, 21, 22 and 23rd.  Carnival Rides for kids, Crafts, Story Times, Live entertainment, Tractor pulls and other amusements.  For futher info they can contact the Bradford County Library or just e-mail me (Pat SMITH Raymond - Pat717@aol.com) since I have the schedule here.
22 MAY 2004 The second annual Bradford County Quilters' picnic will be held on May 22 at the Manley-Bohlayer Hertiage Farm in East Canton from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service.  Beverage will be furnished by the committee.  A donation box and suggestion box will be available.Quilts will be displayed by the Ghent Hill quilt group.  The group will be in charge of the Show and Tell program. The 3rd annual Bradford County Quilt Picnic has already been scheduled for next year on May 21, 2005 at the Manley-Bohlayer Farm.For more information, contact. 26 JUN 2004 The Wyoming County Historical Society will be hosting a special lecture on the 225th Anniversary of Sullivan's March on Saturday, June 26th, from 7 - 9 P. M. at the Tunkhannock Area Middle School Auditorium, 200 Franklin Avenue, Tunkhannock. The speaker will be Ed Mc Mullen, curator of the Everhart Museum in Scranton, dressed and equipped in authentic 18th century militiaman and long hunter garb.If you have any questions please e-mail me or call the Wyoming County Historical Society, Tuesday, Wed., or 1st & 3rd Sat., 10-4. 03 JUL 2004 The week of July 3rd through 10th, Waverly,NY is having a week long celebration of its history called "Decades through Time". Several local historical societies are participating along with an antique auction. There will be military music and historical pieces in the parade culminating with a HUGE parade on July 10th at 10 a.m. in the morning. We are even inviting the governor. Please contact Anne Z. 03 JUL 2004 Old Home Day at LeRoy - LeRoy Old Home Day will be held July 3, 2004 at the LeRoy Community Association Grounds, Mill Street, LeRoy, PA. The day will begin early with several events planned throughout the day, including a parade at
noon, crafters, home-cooked food, ball game, local history, and games of skill. Come out and visit the LeRoy Heritage Museum tent, outside of the future museum, where a display of the upcoming renovation project will be found. 27-29 AUG 2004 The 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Newtown Commemorative Event Committee announces the date and time of its next meeting. The meeting to discuss activities and planning for the event to be held August 27, 28 & 29, 2004 will be held at the Chemung County Historical Society's Education Room at 6 PM on 12/11/03.
